Leather Restoration
At Leatherwise® we take great pride in our ability to restore your pigmented leather upholstery back to its original look, feel, and colour.
In many cases leather can be restored at a fraction of the cost of having it replaced. This is possible even if your leather is cracked, discoloured, dull, faded, feeling rough, looking shabby, stained, or just plain worn out. In most cases the finish on the leather surface has simply worn off, while the leather itself is still robust.

The good news is that we can give your leather upholstery a new lease of life through what is described in the industry as refinishing. Refinishing is a much more affordable alternative to reupholstering, and can result in your leather having a showroom finish.
If your leather is badly cracked, ripped, or in other ways damaged or worn beyond economic repair, our upholsterer can replace the leather panels, rebolster flattened cushions or replace sagging springs. Any damaged wooden trim can also be expertly repaired.
All restoration work is done locally in Masterton, so you don't have to worry about the huge freight charges and lengthy delays associated with transporting furniture items out of the region.

The Refinishing Process
All refinishing work is done at our premises from start to finish. We employ thorough preparation and careful application techniques which are proven and have stood the test of time by skilled leather restoration craftsmen for many years. The resins supplied to us meet the same international standards as those used in tanneries worldwide. We are pleased to be able to pass on these benefits to you as we work to protect your investment and increase its value.
Fire and Flood Restoration
We can clean and restore leather upholstery that has been subject to smoke or water damage (fire and flood restoration). This is normally arranged through your insurance company, but if needed we can provide on-site assessments and quotes for remedial work.
